DIY Dryer Sheets Tutorial

What you’ll need and how to do it!

* Scrap fabric or an old pillowcase

* Wide-mouth glass jar with a lid

* ¾ cup vinegar

* ¾ cup water

* 30 drops of your favorite essential oils

Cut your fabric into squares the size of a typical dryer sheet. If you cut the fabric too small, they will be less effective.

Next, you will mix the water and vinegar and add your essential oils. Feel free to use any of your favorite scents. I used just lavender because that’s the scent of our detergent and it’s also what my entire family likes. Shake your har to mix everything up and pour the liquid mixture into the jar that is layered with your fabric sheets. Poor slowly and weight and continue to add more until your jar is filled, and the fabric is covered.

To use, remove a dryer sheet from the jar, squeeze or ring it out a bit and toss it in the dryer.

Your clothes smell amazing from the essential oils and you won’t smell the vinegar after the laundry has finished drying!

Once the load is finished drying, just place the used dryer sheet back in the jar to soak.

Be sure to store your jar in a cool, dark place to help extend the life if your essential oils.

I absolutely love these dryer sheets! The only beef I have with them is that they don’t help with the static. However, I have fixed the problem! I made a simple non toxic static spray to mist over the dried laundry when it is finished drying in the machine and it works like a charm!
